The Stables Café

The Stables Café is appropriately named because the premises, many many years ago, were the stables for the vicarage. Hence access is either through the vicarage garden or the churchyard (preferably the latter).

It is now a thriving café offering an informal community meeting place. Breakfasts are served 10am – 11am and lunches 11am – 3pm plus tea, coffee and cake through the day. All produce is freshly cooked, homemade and local (where possible) plus remarkable value. Lunch will cost between £2.50 - £3.50 and a pudding £1.50.

The menu varies according to the season and availability a few examples are:

 - red onion & blue cheese tart with salad/ vegetables £3.00
 - broccoli cheese bake with potatoes £2.50
 - chicken casserole with potatoes and vegetables £3.50
 - baked potatoes and with a choice of fillings £2.00
 - Homemade cakes are sold by the slice or whole, eat in or take away.

All profits go to the church and all the ‘staff' give their time freely.

Please note that The Stables Café is only open on a Thursday, but that is every Thursday except Christmas/New Year holidays
Also - when the food is gone – it's gone.

Large parties can be catered for by prior arrangement, any day of the week. Please contact the Vicar or Church wardens.

So whether visiting our historic church, enjoying the beautiful countryside or just fancy a coffee in a friendly atmosphere, we'd love to meet you.

See the happy diners
